The healthy family relationship immensely affects emotional, social, behavioral, cognitive and physical development of children. Even an unborn child has a negative impact due to maternal stress resulting from conflicts. Babies less than one year may exhibit elevated heart rate in response to an overt. Children upto age of 5 years show signs of distress. Children between ages of 6 and 17 years show potentially intense effect when exposed to ongoing resentful, sarcastic exchanges between parents.
